You might have found an e-mail from Cambridge Core/Cambridge University Press in your inbox informing you how to activate your online access to the British Journal for the History of Science. This e-mail was sent to all new subscribers and those who switched their subscription to digital-only. It contains detailed instructions on how to activate your account to gain access to the BJHS online on Cambridge Core, the repository of the journal’s publisher, Cambridge University Press. The e-mail also informs you that you might have a new membership number.
This e-mail is genuine, and the links are safe to click. However, fishing e-mails from alleged scientific journals asking for your data or to subscribe have increased in the past few weeks. So, please pay attention when clicking on links in e-mails that ask you to enter any private data. Check for the URL and do not enter sensitive information such as bank data or passwords if you have the impression that something is wrong with the website.
