Journal scamming – be alert!

It appears that an aspiring BJHS author has been subject to a spearfish scam requesting payment for publication. They received an email, claiming to be from the Journal, in which they were required to make an immediate payment of a substantial fee in order to secure publication.

Please be aware that the Journal does NOT request urgent Article Processing Charge (APC) payment into non-CUP accounts. Any such request should be reported to piracy@cambridge.org. If you need information about the APC process, you will find answers to most of your questions here – if you remain unsure, then again please contact us.

We are currently looking into this to solve the issue, but if you have concerns about any emails you have received that purport to be from the Journal or any other BSHS official, please contact us as soon as possible.
