Do you want to get involved in the work of the British Society for the History of Science (BSHS)? Are you an emerging scholar with experience using social media and/or maintaining websites?
The BSHS seeks two new communications officers, one to focus on its website and the other to focus on social media and new member outreach.
Communications officer (web)
This role involves responsibility for the upkeep of the Society’s website, including writing, editing and posting. The role holder will also work with BSHS Council members on specific projects as required, including, over the coming months, redesigning the look and feel of the website to increase its accessibility and usability (this could be using your own web design skills or by commissioning an external party).
The post-holder is expected to attend meetings of the Council to advise on communications strategy and to work closely with the Communications officer (social media and membership). This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging scholar to establish contacts in the field and develop transferable skills and experience.
The role involves up to two hours per week and will (subject to council approval) receive an honorarium.
